Question 1: Does Redding Medical handle Military Orders?
 

Military Orders:
Redding Medical sells to the military with orders placed with a Purchase Order or a credit card or automatic deposit. We ship to FPO and APO adresses via Priority Mail. Please call 410 526-9755 with any questions.


Question 2: Is my transaction secure?
 

Redding Medical utilizes McAfee Secure Web Server Certification to offer secure communication by encrypting all data to and from the site. So, you can rest assured that the information you provide is secured by encryption. When you are placing your order and providing credit card information, you will notice a lock symbol at the bottom of the screen to signify that your information is secure.

This site is tested and certified daily to pass the “McAfee Secure” Security Scan. To help address concerns about possible hacker access to your confidential data, and the safety of visiting this site, the "live" McAfee Secure mark appears only when this site passes the daily McAfee Secure tests.


Question 3: How long until my order ships?
 

We at Redding Medical are proud of our fast shipping times. If we receive your order before 2PM eastern time Monday through Friday, your order should ship that day. If your order is received after 2PM or over the weekend, your order will ship the next business day.

Our Shipping Department is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm eastern standard time, Monday through Friday (excluding Holidays). If your order will not ship within 24 hours, our Customer Service department will do our best to inform you of the delivery schedule.

Saturday and Sunday are not considered as "business days" by UPS or FedEx. 


Question 4: Where is the engraving done on my stethoscope, and will it delay shipping?
 

Stethoscopes from Littmann and Welch Allyn are available for personalized engraving. Redding Medical will laser engrave on most stethoscopes. It is done on the chestpiece of the stethoscope onto the metal, we also offer engraving on the tube as well.


Question 5: Can I hear better with a shorter length stethoscope?
 

3M Littmann has provided research regarding stethoscope tubing length. They found that the human ear can not detect the difference in the various tubing lengths. In fact, they found that the lower (bell) sounds are heard better with longer tubing length. Plus, an added benefit of longer tubing in stethoscopes is that it provides a greater distance from ill patients and is ergonomically beneficial on your back. We have also found that the shorter length stethoscope does not hang around your neck as easily.


Question 6: Does Redding Medical do Fundraisers or Group Orders?
 

Yes! Redding Medical works with schools and individuals to handle fundraisers or group orders. We are the authorized Group Sale Distributor for 3M Littmann. Please call us at 410-526-9755 to discuss your next order.


Question 7: Warranty and Repair Information for Littmann stethoscopes.
 

Warranty and Repair Information for Littmann® Stethoscopes through the 3M Health Care Service Center: 
Except in cases of obvious abuse or accidental damage, or if a material or manufacturing defect is discovered during the warranty period, repairs will be made without charge upon return of the instrument to 3M. Otherwise the warranty periods are as listed. 
The Littmann® Master Cardiology stethoscope is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of seven years from the date of purchase. The Littmann® Cardiology III and Cardiology II S.E. stethoscopes are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of purchase. 
The Littmann® Master Classic II, Classic II SE, Classic II Pediatric, Classic II Infant, and all specialty stethoscopes (Littmann Teaching and Veterinary), are warranted against any defects in material and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase. The Littmann® Select and Lightweight stethoscopes are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase.

When you purchase a 3M™ Littmann® Stethoscope, you are investing in a quality instrument that should last for many years. Beyond excellent product warranties, 3M offers service and refurbishment that is unmatched in the industry. 
The 3M Health Care Service Center is dedicated to providing you with prompt and efficient service: 
The 3M Health Care Service Center provides FREE repair and service for Littmann Stethoscopes while under warranty. For Littmann stethoscopes no longer under warranty, refurbishment and cleaning services are available for a charge.* Your refurbished stethoscope will carry a two year warranty. (90 days for the Lightweight and Select models.) ** 
Your Littmann stethoscope will be promptly serviced within 24 hours of its arrival at the 3M Health Care Service Center, then shipped back to you via UPS at our expense. 
How to send your stethoscope in for repair: 
* Write a note explaining the repair or service you require, the approximate date you purchased your Littmann stethoscope, and your name, street address and phone number. Include it with your stethoscope. 
* Package your stethoscope and send it via a traceable courier to:

Redding Medical is an authorized distributor of 3M Littmann stethoscopes and is a full-line medical distributor for 3M.


Question 8: I refuted my credit card charge because I didn't recognize the transaction, why was there a $25.00 charge?
 

DISPUTED CREDIT CARD POLICY: If paying by credit card and the customer disputes claim for no fault of Redding Medical Inc.- Redding Medical will add a $25 chargeback fee when reprocessing the credit card. The $25 is a fee that is charged to Redding Medical by the processing bank. We provide our 800 number on your credit card statement to make it easy to call us if you have a question regarding a charge.


Question 9: Is there a restocking fee?
 

Redding Medical does not normally charge a restocking fee, but for large orders or non-stock items, we will charge a restocking fee. Please call before you return any items to verify if the item can be returned, and if there will be a fee.

Question 11: What is the warranty on the UltraScope stethoscope?
 

The UltraScope Lifetime Warranty UltraScope warrants your UltraScope/MAXIScope stethoscope for life. The warranty applies to the original owner and is not transferable. Your UltraScope will be repaired or replaced at the option of UltraScope, if a manufacturing or material defect is determined. UltraScope eartips, diaphragm, retaining ring, binaurals, and internal spring will be replaced at no charge. UltraScope tubing is also warranted if a manufacturing or material defect is determined. Abuse, including neglect, unauthorized alteration i.e. switching one head between different tubings or repair attempts will void the warranty. There is a $7.00 fee. Question 12: How do I clean my stethoscope?
 

Care & Cleaning 
• Use an alcohol wipe to clean the head, diaphragm, and retaining ring only. Please DO NOT soak any part of your stethoscope in liquid. 
• A cloth dampened with water and antibacterial soap can be used to clean any part of your UltraScope. Wipe well with a damp cloth until all soap is removed. Then dry completely. 
• The tubing can be "shined" with a cloth sprayed with pledge or other non-solvent or non-petroleum distillate polish. 
• Normal usage may loosen the diaphragm, retaining ring, and eartips. Check your scope before use.


Question 13: How do I use my UltraScope stethoscope?
 

How to use your UltraScope Stethoscope 
1. Turn binaurals toward your nose and place in ears. Eartips should seat fully into your ear canal opening. 
2. Adjust for comfort. 
3. Use LIGHT pressure to start. Pressing harder than necessary will block the very sounds you need to hear! 
4. Adjust Pressure. Holding scope head between your thumb and middle finger, apply (or release) pressure using index finger of the same hand. 
• For Neonatal model, hold the TUBING between your thumb and middle finger, very gently apply (or release) pressure using your index finger where the tubing joins the head. Gently vary the pressure. Try either method described above depending on size of the patient. 
• To hear HEART sounds (low frequencies) start with very LIGHT pressure. 
• To hear LUNG sounds (high frequencies) apply FIRMER pressure. 
• Use MEDIUM pressure for taking blood pressure readings.

Question 14: I am having trouble with my Ultrascope stethoscope. Any suggestions?
 

Trouble Shooting: "I cannot hear!" 
Remember: Pressing too hard - blocks out all sound!
• Use LIGHT pressure for HEART sounds 
• Use FIRMER pressure for LUNG sounds 
• Use MEDIUM pressure for taking blood pressure readings. 
• Are eartips in ear canal properly? The eartips should point away from your body. 
• Try using them in the other direction. Is the fit better? 
• Do the metal binaurals feel twisted in your ears? Hold both the binaurals/eartips in your hands, pointed away from your body, gently push them away from you to align, using equal pressure." 
• Is the fit better? 
• When you tap on the diaphragm, does it make a drum sound? If not, your diaphragm is loose. 
• Tighten by holding head and turning Retaining Ring clockwise. 
• Are the diaphram and retaining ring still attached to the head of your scope? See Tubing & Parts for replacements. 
• Are you pressing harder than necessary? Try lighter pressure. 
• Are you in a noisy enviroment? Place entire palm over headpiece and apply the correct pressure using the palm of your hand.


Question 15: How do schools/ students receive free Littmann stethoscopes? How do we handle bulk orders or Group orders/
